House Extensions
in Gloucestershire.

Location Gloucestershire
Scope Rear, Side & Wrap-around

A well-designed extension gives you the space you need without the upheaval of moving. We design and build single and double-storey extensions across Stroud, Stonehouse and the rest of Gloucestershire, matching the materials and character of your home so the new work looks as though it was always there.

Built to belong
to your home.

Every extension starts with how you want to use the space: a bigger kitchen, a family room that opens onto the garden, an extra bedroom or a home office. From there we work out the layout, the structure and the materials, and we take care of the build from groundworks to handover.

With over 30 years of building in the area, we know the local stone, brick and render, and how to make new work sit comfortably beside old. Whether it is a brick rear extension on a terraced house or a rendered wrap-around with full-width glazing, the aim is the same: a finish that feels like part of the original house.

Questions

Common questions.

Do I need planning permission for an extension?

Not always. Many smaller single-storey extensions can be built under permitted development rights, within size limits. Larger extensions, and homes in conservation areas or the Cotswolds National Landscape, are more likely to need full planning permission. We can talk you through which applies to your property.

Will I need Building Regulations approval?

Yes. Almost all extensions need Building Regulations approval, whether or not they need planning permission. It covers things like structure, insulation, fire safety and drainage.

What if the extension is close to my neighbour’s boundary?

If the work involves a shared wall or digging foundations close to a neighbouring building, the Party Wall Act may apply and your neighbours will need to be notified before work starts.
