Loft Conversions
in Gloucestershire.

Location Gloucestershire
Scope Bedrooms, En-suites & Studies

Your loft is often the easiest place to find more room without giving up any of your garden. We convert lofts across Stroud, Stonehouse and Gloucestershire into bedrooms, en-suites and studies, including the structural work that makes the space usable.

More space,
under your own roof.

A good loft conversion depends on getting the structure right. That can mean new floor joists, steel beams, or removing old roof supports to open up the space, and it always means planning a safe, comfortable staircase and escape route.

We look at your roof shape and headroom first, then help you decide whether roof windows, a dormer or a larger alteration makes the most sense. Once the structure is in, we take care of insulation, plastering, electrics, plumbing and the finishing joinery.

Questions

Common questions.

Is my loft suitable for a conversion?

It depends mainly on the headroom, the roof structure and where a new staircase can go. As a rule of thumb, you need around 2.2 metres of height at the highest point of the loft. We can take a look and tell you what is possible.

Do I need planning permission for a loft conversion?

Many loft conversions fall under permitted development, within volume limits. Front-facing dormers, raising the roof, or homes in a conservation area usually need planning permission. We can advise on your property.

Does a loft conversion need Building Regulations approval?

Yes, always. The regulations cover the structure, fire safety and escape, the staircase, insulation and ventilation.
